Readers this is an outdated list, most of already know that most of our recycled line of solid surfaces do have third party certiifcations, then the writer compares it to Icestone, which is cement and glass...yes Icestone is Cradle to cradle, but its cement does not make a point as to being compare to SS recyled collections, especially when it comes to seams and repairability.
The writer of this article was notified about this misconception some time ago and refused to do the research to see if SS has certifications for some of their recycled lines...evading makes me wonder and also skeptical about all other reviews...
Think I'm wrong check out Avonites recycled collection, Lg Hi macs and Corian's recycled line..
So to all countertop fabricators please be careful in showing this list to your builders, architects or designers...it could embarass you....what would you say if a builder shows you a pamplet on recycled Avonite or Corian that can contribute to LEED points, or if the builders get in a argument with a LEED AP and say hey this review says SS is no good, then the LEED AP who has proof that the contractor is DEAD wrong....what do you think that will do for your business reputation????
This article should be history, back when people didnt know much about Green it might slipped by...but now i feel better that I at least didnt keep my mouth closed, I was just trying to help...Green Gene
