Glue Warehouse is offering a new adhesive for embedding strengthening rods in Natural Stone countertops. The new glue, Rod-It™, is manufactured in Durham, NC by SCI Grip® and is available in industry standard 250ml -10 to 1 cartridges.
Rod-it™ reduces overall costs by increasing fabrication efficiency and speed while dramatically increasing the flexural strength of Natural Stone countertops. The glue cures in roughly 15 minutes at room temperature and can more than double the flexural strength of any weak area in the stone when used with steel or fiberglas rods.
“In talking with fabricators over the years, they have always mentioned speed, strength and the ability to bond to damp stone as some of the most desirable properties in a rodding glue” reports Chad Thomas, of Glue Warehouse LP. “Using recent developments in chemistry, we were able to meet those expectations really well with Rod-it formulation”
