ok... this is really strange. They have a industry show, and not one person has posted they attended, posted pics  or anything.

We know the show attendance is way down through all the industries, was there low attendance on this one too?

Kelsey, I dunno! I wasnt there, although I would have liked to attend.

With this dismal Global economy (Depression Lite- tastes terrible and less fulfilling!) you are correct. Attendance is way down for most shows.

Over here in China these trade shows are packed! The eternal optimist in me asks "I wonder how long that will last?"

Warning!: If the attendance at that show was low, be on the lookout for photo-shopped pix with OWS protesters clipped into the aisle's of the show!

I went to the show. yes it was small. But powerful. I was very happy I went.  I don't have pictures just too busy attending classes and networking. Its funny I always go to the ICF show in NY. Very large international show. perhaps 10,000 attend Not sure. But what do I learn? That there's a lot of talented people out there that's about it.. When you go to KBIS what do you learn? That kitchen aid has a cool DW? who cares? I want to attend shows where I can bring value back.  At the ICE I learn about how to grow my business. How to be a better employee.  Meet with venders grow the network. It very valuable

Jon,
Jon, are you kiddin me? Maybe you should attend one for kicks.  My last KBIS visit resulted in seeing the new products from Hanstone, the new colors from Corian, the new products from Samsung and many other, too numerous to mention.

Remember when the companies would intro their products at our show, well that has changed, they are going where the designers and the buyers are.

Because of KBIS... I introduced my stone fabricator to Hanstone, I now offer their full line including their directional kick-ass quartz.
I listened to designers tell us where the design market was heading, in this lean economy.
I listened to industry K&B leaders talk about their adjustments to sales and how they were coping.
I made contacts with all the appliance companies and yes Jon funny you should mention a dishwasher... dishwashers sell countertops. I had a lady call me up and told me her dishwasher went out and she had heard I advised her neighbor about one that was so quite. As we talked, I got an appt to show her quartz, and made a sale.

Jon, you do different work than most of us. It is important to me to go to a show that offers everything for a kitchen, because I offer custom kitchens and everything unique about one.  And to go and see the laminate, solid surface, quartz, wood, metal, and other materials that no longer is displayed at the countertop show is a plus.

I agree about KBIS except for the companies that all show the same toilet or same door handle. All the material manufacturers were there showing their latest colors. They used to show them at the ISSFA show but now all are debuted at the KBIS show.

Andy, I agree with that! I bet I saw 2000 faucets on display...

However, I was glad to find many items for the commercial market.. that has helped me.  I saw several shower displays that used both tile and solid surface in the design.

I felt is was an awesome show for a countertop guy to attend, especially one that upgrades drawers, hardware, ect with almost every countertop sale.
