Crime on the rise. if you think crime is on the decline think again. Boston crimes are on the up rise what's even more disturbing is the brutality. You can put your head in the sand  .We don't love in a very nice world.

ah...Jon...  I had to endure posting by Kowboy and others as to why crime was down and my assumptions were fictional, to say the least, when I said crime was up.

Even since I posted months ago, crime in this town is still going up.  I heard from the cops, it takes 2 years, not making it up, up to 2 years to get fingerprints back from the FBI.  The entire system is swamped, and yes things are getting worse.

My truck was the target of a  young guy in the walmart parking lot about a month ago.  When I drove up, I noticed a tatooed  guy open a door to a car, get something out. He then looked into the next car, and then the next. I just thought what an idiot. I called my friend the cop who i knew was on duty.

Well I walked away and just watched... he then walked across to the next row, where my truck was parked.  He got something out of one truck, walked over to mine, never noticed I opened the door for him with the remote. When he was leaning inside my truck I ran over there. He then  found out his pony tail was really a great handle to use to introduce him to the asphalt parking lot.

He had 5 cell phones on him and both pockets full of change, 4 packs of cigarettes, 1 ipod nano and 7 different credit cards, and someones social security card.

    beware of your surroundings....

This is terrible news. The person responsible should not be allowed to continue.

    Kelsey,
Far be it from me to defend Joe...
I just did a "Bing" search for "crime rate rising in US" and all the articles are dated 2006 or older.
I did a "Bing" search for "crime rate falling in US" and all the articles are dated 2009 and 2010. And many of the articles are baffeled as to why.

I don't know what to believe but I think the published data is showing the crime rate falling. I know your personal experiences are contrary to this.
If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Criminals are crap and need to be eliminated. People can't get along cause they got nothing to get along about. They just want to take what they can get.

Liars can figure and figures can lie. Just as the unemployment numbers have been changed over time to reflect what whatever administration is in power, so too have "crime" figures. Here in Phoenix "crime is down" but, burglary, robbery, and of course kidnapping are skyrocketing. But overall, "Crime is down".

If an emergency happens were only a couple days away from riots. Look what is happening in Europe, Greece, Ireland, Span, UK, France... do you really think were any different?

Don't forget, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

    Lenny:

I love you man, you're so consistent. When you can't rebut my facts, you attack my sources. What part of FBI crime and unemployment statistics do you not understand?

To answer you question, I find this stuff on www.instapundit.com , the blog of law professor Glen Harlan Reynolds. His wife is a doctor, Dr. Helen. I think I'm feeling sick and should go see the doctor.

    Joe,

Yes I am consistent. I suspect those numbers are all gummit derived even though obtained thru Pajama Media. Please forgive me as I am still giggling over your dubious source.

Question: Do you trust gummit numbers? Especially after the rosy predictions for , and subsequent crash of the housing and stock markets beginning in late 2007?

I will telll you a true crime story. My step daughter Wei Wei, is in college now, much like yourself. There are alot of illegals down here. She had an illegal mexican classmate relate the story of being stopped by Texas Police, for driving without a valid license.

Upon learning he was illegal they let him go! If that was you or I, we would be in court facing a heavy fine!

    My contention is :

1.) Gummit numbers suck! Its all politics and they will tell whatever lie or massage any number to get the story they want!

2.) Police depts are being cut, due to the dismal economy, less cops, means less arrests, which means less reported crime.  That would result in lower data points in your liberal KollegeBoy graphs.

    Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

"An intelligent mind recognizes defeat." John Patrick, The Curious Savage

Can we agree that the earth is spherical in shape and revolves around the sun?
Can we agree that humans breath oxygen and that germs really exist?

Or are these too also subject to government conspiracy? Hey, they could have faked those pictures of earth from the alleged moon visits, right? I'm sure you guys can help me explain away the others also.

When people are faced with overwhelming evidence that they just refuse to believe because it skewers a dearly held myth, what are you gonna do?

Just keep it up, you guys are wearing me down.

Hah! Being a burglar in the UK was always cushy work. The gun control laws over there are outrageous so the populace is generally unarmed. Most of the police dont carry guns, just a whistle! The most the criminals had to fear was the alarming sound of a policemans voice saying............."Stop or I'll toot!"

Now they dont want to investigate unless they are positive the crime can be solved easily? Geez! With the current budget cutting in the US, I wonder how long before that mentality arrives here.

Lenny this is already going on to a degree.  Two houses down from me was broken into thru the back yard and they left thru the front yard.  Another neighbor called the Police and I saw one of them walk across the empty lot in front of my house carrying something.  I only saw him from the back but I could describe him.  I didn't know at the time what had happened but I see stuff like this quite often since the area I live in has been re-named Felony Flats.  When the cops showed up and I found out what happened I told them what I saw and even found the tracks the guy left in the sand, (I live in the desert) and followed them to the Apt. complex he lived in.  The police promised all kinds of things, extra patrols and such.  Nothing happened until the same guy shot and killed an innocent guy trying to break up a fight at the Apts.

The police finally went after them and did catch them both, but in my opinion a little to late.

    Kelsey:

Even with the eight cities you've specified, you're still committing the logical fallacy of hasty generalization, see my previous link please. Your sample is too small.

There is a statistical correlation between increased ice cream sales and an increase in drowning deaths during the warmer months in Michigan. Obviously eating ice cream doesn't cause one to drown. This means correlation is not causation. You have completely failed to make a casual connection between higher crime and higher unemployment.

The charts I've linked show directly the opposite. Please make a logical case demonstrating unemployment causing higher crime. You cannot do it.
