ISSFA certification meant nothing unless the individual distributor approves you as a fabricator. Without material it is worthless.

Gene,

It is important for a business to be certified to maintain a business. The employees don't buy material, the business does. I can't risk loosing my certification because an employee decides to start his own business.

I do see your point, they should look at individual cases and allow you to be certified. I understand you don't want to pay, but the business probably paid to have you certified back in the day. It is the cost of doing business.

I also think they attach a price to eliminate the small contractor types that just want to do one job. It cost to much to manage large volumes of accounts when they aren't purchasing product.

Not saying it is the best system but I do see both sides.

Andy...nope, nope, nope.. The company i worked did not pay...they didnt even pay me for the hours...I mention I took vacation days, I paid the 325.00 which was expensive for me at the time...I bought all the tools and bits required myself...I went to vegas and they didnt pay one nights lodging, so I quit

, then they hired me to do odd and end work which I basically charged them and made money...but not corian...and I know to the untrained eye..it appears i am pissed at hell at corian...I am because of the unbending of their Florida only policy...thanx for at least understanding...i do kinda have a worthy whiny gripe

Great point Andy.. kind of outdated thinking, ya think?  I'm sure Ebay has trouble managing all their accounts.

Lowes business model is based on servicing millions of small homeowner sales, the hell with the big contractor accounts.

With that said, i bet you would love to see 30 homeowners make a purchase from you, than one contractor buying the same 30 tops. I bet the 30 homeowners would generate an additional $15k vs the contractor. ???

Just thinking out loud....
