Sally and I perform  "Wall of Death, miss understood and Heart needs a home" by RT on the occasion  when we play out as a duo.

He like Joni Michelle kinda have there own tuning.  With RT it helps too to probably have some Celt or Welsh in your blood.  Something about that style that grabs me.

I love to read the lyrics by a so many writers,  where does it all come from?   The fun thing about our friends from over the pond is the translation of words .

Years ago while we were in New Zealand Lisa and i were having beers in a bar,  we met some local  dudes having beers too.  They were laughing their butts off at some of the slang my wife was rattling off.  They were even writing some down.

I hadn't thought about his tuning, but you're right, he does vary it a bit. Not just drop D either from what I hear.

I don't know if Greenie reads these threads, but I gave him a Wolfstone CD and he uses the Bagpipe song "Battle" to stir him into schizo mode.

I still occasionally take out my chanter and give it a whirl, owing to the Scot's blood in my veins.

Oh yes...WolfStone. They do a Andy Stuart tune I like to do..."Queen of Argyle" I still think Silly Wizard has the best rendition, it's the one I cover. They use a cittern as the main strings where as I use gitter box. There are some wild celtic rock/punk bands out there.

Tall Ships is my favorite Wolfstone tune. About right for what's going on in the world today.

I didn't know whether to put this here or in the "That's when the fight started" section:

Tim Hawkins - Things you don't say to your wife.

David,
Sometimes you miss something until it whacks you in your face.

I remember Tim Hardin as referenced in a Long Ryders song (Looking for Lewis and Clark) but forgot about him until I was doing some Bobby Darin research. He wrote two songs that are e3asy to play, sing, and are crowd pleasures to be sure.

If I were a Carpenter, and Reason to Believe.

I love the comment:
" If Chris Farley played drums, this is what he'd look like."
