Does anyone know if there is a standard height to set a Shower Caddy. We sell five different sizes but we never know what height to set them. 46" to the bottom of the first shelf seems to be pretty comfortable, but if there is a standard I would love to know. Thanks in advance,
Andy |

Andy, I remodeled bathrooms for over 15 years, if there is a standard, I don't know about it. We always had the lady of the house stand in the shower, close her eyes and put out her hand. That was the height we put the shelf for the shampoo. We always told them it was truely custom that way. (Hey, it worked!)
Boy, without giving you more details on the process, this sounds really bad. |

I like standards. It gives me a place to start. The height idea using the homeowner is kinda a good idea. Need to make a chart based on a person's height. Sticking the lady in the shower and having her close her eyes may be risky. Don't want to get sued. |

Put it somewhere.... on the right wall is all the customer cares about. I've never had anyone say it's too high, too low.... Geez Andy... you need to start thinking about how to start driving a Mini-Cooper instead of a mini-van. . I did a counter job for a couple, she owned a Cooper... had over $6K in engine improvements done... Her next job was $2700 in suspension work upgrade ... what????? |

Andy, the standard height for a shower valve is 48" off the floor, that's a good place to start. |

my wife and daughter have put up a caddy in our shower. I hangs slightly above the valve. it's full of crap and the corner seat.....full of crap too! I smell like a watermelon every morn instead of the old days...."janitor in a drum". Point is:
Put it anywhere low, if there is a mrs. involved they will fill it up so it doesn't matter.
just put it low enough so that when those large bottles fall they don't reach "terminal velocity and break a toe on the man of the house. |
