David.. I was needing a tube of adhesive so i placed an order on the Portal. and in the notes put in, please ship today, I need it tomorrow. Nashville is only one day fed-ex or ups for us.
So, a little after 9 am their CSR calls and said she saw in the notes where I wanted it shipped today, but she couldn't because they can't do that.

Thats what i have liked about the change over, everyhting they has done for years can now not be done.

I sent an email to another CSR there, and she said she would be glad to walk the order back and make sure it goes out.  I'm sure she bucked the system... and will probably have to answer to corporate for receiving and order, billing an order, and shipping all in the same day.

After that, I go to install 3 #1914 Ivory vanity sinks in Tamboro... and the sinks looked GREEN...  ughhh. A call to the rep produced a "yeah, I've been hearing there is some color issues across the country.
THEN WHY NOT PULL THE DAMN THINGS FROM STOCK.....  Send them back to Gemstone.  While these sinks might not look as bad on different colors, next to the tambora, ughh.

why not buy glue from  a adhesive supplier? better price on glue and faster service great tech support. I cant see buying glue from a sheet manufacture way to expensive

Plus I've seen a sheet company put on a party like Integra does

support those that support the fabricator

Jon, I love integra. If I was to buy the quanities you guys do, yes it would be cheaper, but not for the one or 2 tubes, plus they are not close and require overnight$$ for me to get it the next day.

Shipping would kill me on fed ex cost for glue.   Also the hazmat charge,  has to be ground shipped for us.

Next day orders will cost you a fortune unless it is from a local distributor.

I placed an order last Thursday with a request for delivery today, Monday.  With all that has been going on at LG I was dreading that I may not receive it as scheduled.

Well, I got it by 10:30 today.  Two for the price of one.  I ordered 2 sheets and one bowl.  They delivered 4 sheets and 2 bowls.  I will say, that is better than not getting it at all.  But now I have to spend time putting the two sheets back on the pallet and banding it securely and being around for the pick up.

I would like to say that my CSR is a pleasure to work with.  Very responsive to my inquiries.  He has experience with our business, as a SS shop owner and fabricator.  Always returnes my calls promptly.

This seems to be a reoccurring event. That speaks volumes.

Man, I thought I was the only one having issues with LG. I have several similar stories I could tell as well. Back in the good ole days I could place an order and if I had to I could run up to Atlanta (KVF) and pick it up same day. Now, I sit and wait the rest of the day to see if I successfully placed my order. I recently told my rep I was pulling the product only to have orders placed in LG with no crossover colors. So, I'll keep em around a little longer I guess.

Tom... give it time, and LG will pull the plug on your distributor, just like they did NuStone and CalPly.

So.. I was talking to my LG rep today, BTW, best rep i have ever had with any company for 27 yrs...  I was telling him I got another church.
Let me explain.   I had a church call a while back me and ask me about a vanity for the womens restroom. It was a 9'- 3 sink, I called my rep, ordered the material, commercial pricing.. and they loved it!!  Well... then women from this church told the ladies in the other church about it, I sold them too.. and on, and on , and on...
For several years now, I have bid on small commercial Jobs, including McDonalds.

THIS IS WHAT MY REP SAID....

Tell ya what... going to start another thread on this one... KC

I placed an order on the portal on 10/18 in the a.m.  I quickly received an e-mail saying that they received the order and it was being reviewed to make sure that it contained all the necessary information.  Once reviewed they would send notification that the order has been processed.  I have yet to receive notification that it has been processed and I am waiting to receive the order today.

I think that I will call them directly.  In the several calls that I have made for assistance they have always been extremely friendly and helpful.

The other day the Vice President, Simon Oh and the Strategic Planning Manager, Brian Chang stopped by our shop to discuss issues with their portal.

We were extremely pleased to see them to get a first hand information from the fabricators dealing with the system.  They both took notes and said they are listening to the issues and working diligently finding a solution.

For what it's worth, they are listening and making changes.  That should lead to a better system.
