I became sold on Facebook as a really relevant thing for me (as a 49 year old) when I saw how it let me re-establish relationships in the planning for a 30 year high school reunion. It's not the same as a full-fledged, in-person friendship, but it beats not thinking about somebody for 20 years, which is where a lot of us were. In terms of its commercial impact, my guess is that it is ahead of us more than it's already here. If I were you, I'd get somebody with a Facebook account to search for "countertops". Tonight I get 211 results. I'd look at what is there, and see if I thought it was for me. There was a time when having a website was cutting edge, and now it's pretty much an expectation for a lot of shoppers. My guess is that social media is the next wave. |

Why is it okay to send all that info out on the internet but not okay to fill in the census form? Stir pot, stir! |

Randy, I had a customer in this week that said the exact same thing about planning her 30th. There is certainly value, to be sure, and I need to think about that counterop search thingy, but I think that promoting and encouraging people to refer us directly still has better value. |

Many of my leads are coming from social sites. Just concluded a nice chat on FB with a potential SS design. FB is coming on strong beat the learning curve now. |

It's not bad to have a FB account, you just have to be careful how much marketing time you spend on it. |
