Did anyone attend the GreenBuild 2009 show here in Phoenix over the last three days?

I got to walk the show, and ALL of the "Green" type countertop product manufacturers
had booths there - Icestone, Vetrazzo, LG, Paperstone, Kirei, Enviroglass, etc...

The official number of people attending for the first two days was at 28 thousand people
as of last evening - my guess is there'll be another 10 thousand for today's events.....

    pretty impressive.........

Wow, that is a ton of people. Guess that blows away the countertop shows combined. I am sure there are a lot of other materials their though besides just countertops.

    You have any pictures?

I was at the show, and, totally by accident Met Bill Wolle, we were walking down the street and started chatting. Found out about half way who he was. 1800 booths so much more than countertops. Im not sure how much is "green" and how much is green washing, but, most every product you could imagine was there.

Jon, saw your handy work, very impressive!

Man, you're not exactly short and Grant's got ya by a few. We should start a solid surface basketball league.

    Smokey Robinson? Awesome, Greeny!

I remember the first time I met Bob Paradiso, I was prepared to think he was another corporate yes guy, but he won me over in about five minutes. Funny as heck, to. Gave one of the best seminars back in '04, IIRC. He also cut through a lot of red tape for me with the laminate company he worked for at the time. Great guy.

    Question: What is EDP certification?

Tom, sorry didnt realize you asked a question..EPD is another type of Certification which is easier and a 'SHOW me The data" type certification...with all these green labels out there MFGs are realizing which ones are beneficial...Greengaurd certification probaly wouldnt have sold much if it didnt have the word Green in it..EPD is a more transparent certification...Surface fabrication just did a release about it in their article online Im sure you can google it....

Thanks. It sounds like a more common sense certification based on what I've been griping about these last couple of years.

Bitchen pictures. Glad to see you meet up with people in the industry. Maybe I should have gone. Uhg.

I thought you said the show was in Arizona. Kinda off the beaten path if you ask me. The turnout was excellent. What is the secret to create a successful, long lasting show?

Gene nice pics. Grant goes to a ton of shows every  year. He thought this was the best show he's been to in some while.  Gene ,Grant enjoyed his time with you. He loves your style.

Andy last year's  show was in Boston. Not sure how them come up with the cities to host

I think it has to be something has never seen before...it seems we already know whats gonna be at our specific shows and we really just go their to seeour friends...and if budgets dont allow...then your friends would hafta settle for e mail

I met so many new friends and Im glad they werent just countertoppers...I need designers, specifiers and archys...it was great but I am just the kionda guy that has a good time when most may not...this show might have bored some...green is my thing...but to some of youse guys that would be like watching grass grow...what interests us is what makes the show...if it mentally taxes people...they will make up excuses as to why they cannot attend

most shows we know a year in advance...its not that we are busy...its that we wanted to be busy during and we can read the reviews and pictures on new media...could be wrong but thats what I seem to see
