I have a job that I would like to see if I can sand on our CNC. Does anyone know of a random orbit sander attachment for a CNC? The CNC I have is a Thermwood 45. If anyone has done this great. If anyone has had any luck doing this please let me know of your experience. I have about 200 12' x 7" pieces to sand with one 1 1/2" drop down. I know setup and program would be easy. Thanks

This is also posted in the Solid Surface.

ED we do all kinds of crazy things on are CNC but That's not one of them. Think of the time factor. What could you be routing instead of sanding? Why not tell your fabricators you'll pay them piece rate instead of on the clock?

you'll be surprised how fast they'll work when off the clock

Jon, bound to happen if you are directing blood flow to one area of the body, therefore reducing flow to the extremeties.

Sorry for derailing the thread, I should know better, lol.

AXYZ CNC routers used to have this functionality. I don't know how it works out, but i may be worth contacting AXYZ.

AXYZ sells a sander but I dont't think it is very successful. It might be OK for sanding wood, but I don't think it would be very good on SS. Tom has one on his machine. Maybe he can chip in here.

Heh. Got one. Used it once.

    "nuff said.

Seriously, tough, you can't beat a trained eye. Knowing when this or that is done on the next pass, put more pressure over there, wider or narrower path here. I suppose you can do it for a partial, but you'll still need to finish it by eye.
