We've been working like crazy on our next release - version 3.0. I wanted to give everyone here a heads-up before they get the official emails, etc.

Here are the highlights. Now that we've got 3 editions of our software (Basic, Standard, and Enterprise) I've noted which features show up where.

BE, SE, EE: New filters - you can filter on text and number fields, and filter for things that are missing.

SE, EE: Phases & Forms - a bunch of folks are using the phases more than we ever expected, so we've made it easier to add new phases, and create sets of forms at once.

EE: Quotes - there is now more flexibility on printing quotes. The idea is that you should be able to print any kind of contract, proposal whatever you can imagine... and any image or CAD files that you've attached to it.

EE: Inventory & PO - new filters on both of the pages.

and....the big new thing... SE & EE customers who're current on maintenance will get access to our new mapping service. This lets you map out all of the activities you have scheduled for a day. This isn't technically part of the software, and we don't know exactly what the ultimate cost to us will be, so there might be a separate charge for this in the future. I think it's really cool, and as soon as you've got the update, you should check it out.

Here's the full list: [script removed]We also did a ton of stuff behind the scenes, which is actually what took most of the time... so you should be seeing better performance, fewer restrictions on how much data you can enter certain places, and better support for the latest browsers. Few folks ask us to "please make looking at this page a few seconds faster", but I hope having really fast access to your data is a big deal - we think it is.

That mapping feature sound interesting. Making it faster is great although I think it is pretty fast already.

It sounds like Moraware will be even better but I have to admit I don't know what mapping will do.

Andy and Val started using the program several years ago and it took me awhile to learn to love it.  Not because it did not work well but because I was used to the big schedule board.  Now I cannot imagine life without it.

Since John and I work part time, we check the schedule from home and see when we need to be at the office or on a job site.

The one thing I have found annoying is that no one will answer my questions.

If I ask:

Has Mrs. Jones confirmed her install time?     "Check Moraware"

How many sheets did we order for that job?  "Check Moraware"

How many kitchens did we do last year?  "Check Moraware"

I am convinced they have a little recorder in their pocket and just push the button when I ask a question.

I think they like the program so they do not have to  talk to me.

If they were smart they would keep you in the dark about how well Moraware works. Then you would think that they are all geniuses when they can answer just about any question you could think of.

My personal favorite thing to do is prove the sales people wrong. They always seem to think that we're selling more of certain colors than we really are. Then I can just create a report of square footage of material applied to jobs and say..."yeah, that color is number 15 on the list."

Great idea which will prove really useful when allocating fitting and templating resources.

                      

Every feature we have done has been a direct result of a request from users. So, please keep the requests and suggestions coming.

We're constantly juggling our wish list, and having multiple people explain how they would like to do things has helped tremendously. So, thanks! We'll keep plugging away...
