Dave stumbled on site without regards to what DIY pusher was selling. Just wanted to know, and found out. Dave did not critisize Gordon. Usual rusty spoke did.
Just the facts Joe Friday. |

Thanks Gordon. You're a stand up guy and at this point, this really is a non-issue. If we didn't have sarcasm in life, we'd all be stepford wives. |

Gordon, none of this is about you. If you had some control over the situation maybe it would be, since you don't, why does it bother you? |

Tom, speaking philosophically about sarcasm. I can find few instances where you are unclear, fewer cases that you you come across as sarcastic.
I've said it before, you sir, are a voice of reason here on this site. While we don't always see eye to eye, I find your responses intelligent and thought provoking.
Have fun in FL. |

Tom's back in Florida??? Must scout the ocean for the Grady White with the BBQ grill on the bow !
The above lines are misinformation. One must keep with the theme of the thread. |

Dave:
As usual, the written record completely and totally undermines your opinion.
I have posted on pages 4, 9, 12, 14, 23 and 24 on this thread. On page 16, I post twice. You may remember "...you will find no personal attacks by me against anyone..." I post twice on page 17, and compliment Gordon for "falling on his sword for his bosses". I post four times on page 19 and in the third post, "I agree with Gordon".
On page 27, I respectfully disagree with Gordon, but then, that's how friends behave. You may want to try this sometime. That's not criticism, just a friendly suggestion to preserve your credibility among readers.
Andy:
On page 28, you make a blanket statement of criticism of Gordon. I didn't check anyone else, but I'm clearly excluded.

Preserve this Joe. Those you think are friends, are suspect at best, for their own good. Same Joe...same MO. |

Gordon,
Surely I explained about the sarcasm bit. Think back last time someone used sarcasm against you personally, the whole point was to belittle you and your point. That is what sarcasm is about. Here is a quote from a dictionary,
These adjectives mean having or marked by a feeling of bitterness and a biting or cutting quality. Sarcastic suggests sharp taunting and ridicule that wounds: "a deserved reputation for sarcastic, acerbic and uninhibited polemics.
Not that I care what you write, doesn't bother me at all, fire away. Just don't forget the basic principle in writing- Words have meanings. By using sarcasm, you are setting a tone in the conversation, but as you say, you will have to deal with that on your own.
I agree with others that have said this is most likely way over your head and you have done the right thing for your company by passing along the message. I also agree that you seem to be taking this personaly. Speaks well of you, actually, that this issue has gotten under your skin and also that you defend your company.
Back to the eight sheet issue, we are just wondering why a company would take such a risk for such little gain. I could sell sheet goods once or twice a month, but it wouldn't be worth the risk of losing fabrication rights with that company, so besides not doing it on principle, I do not do it out of self interest.
Putting a microscope on some of us? How is that warranted, unless it involves one of us doing substandard work? Let me withdraw that question as it is plain that this entire issue is a sore spot with you. Don't we all have sore spots that can push us over the edge.
Thing about forums is that it is inherintly dangerous for all of us. A public relations faux pau by a brand, a well meaning employee spilling the beans and getting in trouble over it with managment, or a customer stumbling across info that some would rather not have in the general domain (like staying out of the kitchen in a resturant or watching sausage being made, some things are not helpful). All of these traps are out there to be avoided or at least weigh the risk against the rewards.
Chill, no one is attacking you personally. When I hire a new guy, first thing they learn that when I speak to them in the customers home, sometimes it is meant for the customer to hear, not for the employee. Same thing here, we are speaking to you, or thourgh you, to the guys that make the decisions. Like it or not, EOS is better off hearing this than wondering why business is not expanding like it should.

Andy, you bet this is what this site is all about. All of us are better off with these brand's people participating. The worst thing a brand could do is say nothing in response and let mis information fill the void.
Got no beef with Gordon, just pointing out that sarcastic is not the way to go here. Still, I am valuable to my business only for my good looks, not my writing or spelling skills, so perhaps I had better watch my own sarcasm. |

Remember the website that claimed visible seams in solid surface that started this conversation? I got a nice email in response to my ill mannered blast on their site. Not 100% postive but they agreed to fix a lot of it, as Dave and others have reported..
NIce ot know that there are some honest ones out there. |

I think this is about the latest test that MIA did, if not this site used the test done by the Hospitality Institute and lopped off the winner, stainless steel in favor of granite. Look at the bottom of the page...
