We did a HI-Macs warranty back in May.  We still haven't gotten paid for it.  Is this typical or am I getting screwed on this one?

I have only done one hi-macs claim. It was about five years ago, and I was paid within 30 days.
I have had to wait along time for payment from other companies. The payment came from the distributor if I remember correctly. Good luck Andy!

May, June, july , August, september, october hmmmm to me it sounds like you got screwed...did it hurt..

when you repair or refinish dont you ask for the 50% money up front from the entity...or at least ask for sheets...but a halfa Year ..you must be rich that it takes  6 months to find out someone owes ya...go git em Andy...seems like we need cash warranties to honor repair warranties

Andy,

Your getting screwed. The most we ever waited for payment from a Hi-Macs warranty was between 3-4 months, but that was when it was run by a distributor. Did you get a sign off on the repair? If so send it to the main offices. Good Luck.

Andy,

We have never had to wait that long.  We get a check from the distributor.

It is either that or I tell then to not call me the next time you want me to fix your problem.

We are getting tired of tracking down the money.  The distributor owes the money and the claim is that they havn't been paid by HI-MACS yet.  Sounds fishy to me.  Hopefully someone from HI-MACS will read this and put some pressure on the person to write the checks.

Andy:

As I see it, you did Hi Macs and the distributor a favor by taking care of the warranty problem.  The distrubutor should be waiting for the payment, not you.  Explain it that way to your distributor and use it as a condition of future assistance.

So your distributor says they haven't been paid. HUM. I'll tell you what next time you order Hi-Macs tell them you cant pay them until your customer pays you.

I guess you do not due a lot of Hi-Macs countertops, cause if you did I just would refuse to pay for any material until the amounts washed out.
If the distrubutor says they can't pay well have your attorney send them a nice little letter along with interest charges and the like, cause thats is to long to wait for payment from even the manufacture themselves.

Andy, remember this post?

"Again, I apologize for your experience which will certainly be reviewed further internally.  If you want to discuss one-one-one from this point, don't hesitate to call (877-853-1805)."

It was actually Wags that had Michael take a look at the Fabnet, I guess he hasn't been monitoring it lately. There is the phone number though.

We have actually been talking with HI-MACS and they keep telling us they will get it taken care of.  I am amazed when manufacturers come by our shop and ask what they can do to help us sell more material.

THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE

FYI Mike Tasch has a new position with LG he is not the product mgr anymore. I don't know off hand whom is, but I would ask for this position when you call the main office. That is not the LG that I have known over the years. And I agree your distrubutor should be the one on the hook for this. How about next order you just "back charge" them for what they owe you. Sounds fair to me

Andy:

Have you talked to Tad about this issue. I have done a few warranty claims for them and have never had any trouble getting paid. Is Kathy your rep.

I have just received an email from both Mike Tasch and Calvin Kim stating the check is on the way.

Thanks to everyone involved including FabNet members and LG Surfaces representatives for getting a handle on this situation.

Great hope ya get it...i just dislike the fact that you had to bascially expose them on Fabnet to get them to make things right...I hope there arent other claims they owe to people who arent on a website forum.

I hope this is just a mistake or miscommunication and not a an insurance type practice as to where they only pay the people who complain after three times...

I will respect Hi-macs and give them the benefit of the doubt in this matter...its not about Andy its about fabricators who take care of them and expect the same thing in return...kudos to Hi-Macs

btw why do they have a dash between their name...cant we just write it Himax ??????
