Gene, Nice biz plan concerning the inlays. Its always great to have people like you and Jon using our products. I know you fine fellows will help push it to the next level. Thank you so much!!!! Karl, There used to be a German firm called Schock that offered an acrylic E stone. It was called Cristalite if memory serves correctly . It was 85% quartz, and 15% acrylic resin. Interesting product. I don’t know if they still offer it. You could T form it! Yep, I seen it done with my own eyes. Now it didn’t gain you much, the surface of the outside radius got rough and you had to finish it to make it look pretty again (no easy task). Either lots of handwork, or hire Einstein to program your CNC for a complex curved shape. But just seeing that done once with my own eyes , made me speechless, which rarely happens to me as the esteemed Tom M, Andy and many others can tell you. Lenny |

I have some of the Shock sinks still in inventory. Not the quartz, just the solid surface. They used to make the Corian sinks for DuPont in Germany. Kinda stupid-funny: The sinks were the same size, shape, etc., but instead of, say, an 871 sink, it would be a 971. Instead of an 810 bowl, it would be a 910. S'truth! |

Tom,
Funny freaking story. A nameless major American company had some kinda exclusive arrangement with Shock for sinks. Anyway after resigning from a namless American company, Im kicking it in Korea (SOuth Korea, LEST YOU SIDETRACK THIS POST CONCERNING LIL RED BOOKS) on assignment. Im at a solid surface factory and Lo and Behlod, what do I see?, a Shock bowl molder.
It LOOKS like a metal Armoire, 2 sides, 8 molds at once. Inject the matrix in there and wait a bit, and 8 bowls came at once, pushed outta the mold with recessed pins.
Geez, those Germans, that had to be the Mercedes of Bowl casters!

Lenny
I laughed and said its been a while since Ive seen one those. |
