hey everybody...i been playing around again in da shop...ya know how we sometimes have leftover adhesive in da tubes?...well what do we do with it? this idea can also be Green in a way...not so much for the environment but for re-using whata normally might have hit the garbage

I got this idea to run a bead of Lumistome inlay cartridge material on some Mica, then basiclaly "KRUNCH" it up for future inlay usage..shelf life wont matter than...im doing all my colors and when the dates get close to that years or so...it gets 'Krunched"...to the LEED APs out there and green designers...
we can name this "Post fabricator Consumer 99.% recycled content"

most inalys are straight..I like the 'Krunch" look...this one is ok..but the next one im gonna make sure is wild......

But the real reason of this post is to show countertop newcomers how to offer some unique designs for their customers...Lumi-Krunch can be mixed with other colors and seashells and mirrors like mine..

Second benefit to Avonite Glass series first timers...if ya stack your edge you know you are gonna get that dark line showing from Build up to the deck..right?...well if the customer is unhappy..give them an inlay groove precisely where that color change occurs..

this might be wacky..but i made a deal with the industry...if i can continue to have a good time doing my job I will share the good news and all i find...newcomers this industry is fun and exciting...hope you challenge yourself and have fun making countertops

Tom, I knew you would like that old school Mica with the FORMICA label

David....you know Im gonna...mix up all my glues then 'Krunch it up"oh yeah

heres some more work in progress pics...we'll see how it turns out tomorrow night...I like the idea of getting rid of the Avonite hue line in the glass series i mixed it up with some Mirror and blue shiny glitter...this might be a great idea for Nail salons or something glitzy like that...take charge newcomers!!!

Gene,

That is truly creative, thanks for adding a green aspect to Lumistone, mirrors, and soon to expire glues etc. And thanks for your interest in Lumistone. That is just way cool.

Gene,

In most of the pictures, the Avonite looks all the same color but in the finished countertop, the outside edge looks like a darker color.  It that just the result of the stacked edges and the contrast to the fill?

Great idea.

well most seem to have this problem if they stack the edges it gets darker...i tried to get rid of that line by the inlay and still shows darker...the Bartop i did i apron the edge with plexi backing...but this was my experiment top...i;ll post a pic of what it useta look like before i Lumi'Krunched it...it looks cool Glowing...I ll show the pic soon of that

see you still see that line even though its not lit up...Its kinda like having a free BORDER without the customer paying for it...to those who are gonna sell Avonite glass tops..I suggest ya make up a sample to show potential customers...cant show them the little sample thats all da same color and then when ya get to the hpouse try to explain that dark line...do it up front

Hi Gene,

David Bowie used to have this song Jean Geinie..I changed the words to Green Gene..ie.

I cant wait for the pix, Im on pins and needles, cant wait to see your latest creation.

To quote some old dead English dude named Shakespeare (sort of).....to glow or not to glow, that is the question!

Knowingly and Glowingly,

I already beat you to it, Lenny. We were debating whether Gene Greenie or Green Genie would be better. I think Green Genie sounds better, but then that disallows Greenie as a shortened nickname.

What do you think?

Dear Tom,

Are you trying to disrail this thread> While I wait with baited breath for Genes too cool for earth results? Gordon has often accused you of being a disrailer. If you truly wanna disrial, lets make it profitable. Im told Every once in while they move mad gold by rail for the federal reserve. Dude call me..from a payphone!

Just a thought.

How did you sell that idea to your customer?  Looks very unique in a good way.
