How much is it off? AND, how do you know which is correct.

A favorite in our shop is to drop the tape measure on the metal end and then leave it like that. Makes the tape off by about 1/8" and then I get that glazed over look from the employee, "What".

Drives me nuts.

Jon,

If its from China, you need to squint when you look at it. Bet it reads correct. Its an optical illusion. Eintsien addressed this in his theory of tape-a tivity.

And it doesnt matter. If you buy all your tapes from China, the job measure equals the shop measure

All joking aside, Im told Tape measures are only accurate to 1/16 inch.
