I saw another post on here where a guy built a sub box for his truck. It just so happens that I just completed one for my kid. Took me like 4 weekends to do it and I dont thing it is tuned pefectly like his but she loves it and it sounds pretty good. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Yeah, my kid is pretty cool. Here she is last night practicing some gymnastics move.

I could do it if I really wanted to.

it all depends on the subs that you use i like the fiberglass wor i have done quite a few of those they are not the funniest thing to build but they look great when they are finished. my recommendation i to go with digital designs they are a little more expensive but they will take any abuse that you can dish out.

what kind of a car are you going to be doing ?
here is a great audio forum my name is epdesign if you find your way over there

pol, I am building a system for a 1992 ford bronco. Its for my other kid. She turns 16 in 6monhs.

So It doesnt have to be a super high dollar system, i just want it to look nice and sound decent

Polite, I was thinking of running two 12" dual voice coils subs. I would run them in series so that would ..hmmm... I think take me down to 2 ohms.. or is it 1ohm... Is that am rated to run down to a 1 ohm load?

As you can tell I am no expert at this. Sorry

If not, I have been working on a design to have two small glass boxes... 1 left and 1 right and incorporating the amp into one of them but it would look cool to run two of those amps. Then I could make it look semetrical.

As you noticed on my last box. I ran two amps and two caps.. Way overkill but it just looked cool so I did it.

My wife owns a store where we sell some Home Theater type of equipment and some of the vendors sell car stuff also so I can get really good deals on some stuff but I gotta tell ya.. $100 for that amp is a screamin deal.

that all depends on the the coils some subs have dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm i have even had dual .75 ohm subs it can get complicated but it does not need to be.

one of the biggest misconceptions is that the # of subs matter i guarantee the rite rite box tuned to the rite frequency with a single 10" sub will easily blow 2 12"s out of the water. i have a 12" that has been sitting in my closet

here is a pic
Photobucket

its a dual 2 ohm 12" sub it weighs 45 lbs and is one of the best subs on the market ill post up a video of it in action
