The next city over from me is burning.  This picture is out the living room window and it seems to be getting closer.  I live in the city so this is pretty amazing that it would get this close.  I will keep you posted.

That's scary stuff, Andy. I hope the winds don't continue to derive them in your direction.

How are you coping with this?

Andy,

Watching that on the news here and I hope the winds stay away from your city. Every year I see this on the news and think to myself I'll take the hurricane over fire any day. Don't hang around if it heads toward you.

We should be fine because we are in the city and not so much in the hilly area.  We went on a road trip to figure out where the fire was exactly.  The thing is outa control big time and now it has just jumped the freeway (interstate).

We are about 5 miles away from the Anaheim Hills fire.  This whole area in the hills has dry brush weaving through open areas between the tracks of houses.  We have had to evacuate in the past, but it looks like we will be OK this time.  We can barely smell the smoke at our house, but I closed the office early today because the smoke was so think and the smell was terrible.  It is between the Yorba Linda, Brea and Anaheim Hills fires, so we got the smoke from all three.

For the people out of the area, these are cities where we do most of our residential work.

I'm glad to hear, Andy and Linda, that your homes and business will most likely be safe from the fires. My prayers are with you and the others affected by the fires.

Keep safe,

You and yours doing okay, Andy? I went to Oakland to work insurance claims from the fires there in 1991. Nothing to be trifled with...

All is good so far for us.  The fire is still not contained but the winds have died down.  Still only 9% humidity which causes problems.  Everything here is real dry.
